UPDATE: NEW SPRAY POLYURETHANE SESSION
CPI and the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance are pleased to announce the addition of a new spray polyurethane foam panel discussion focused on health and safety issues at the Polyurethanes 2009 Technical Conference. Given the role of spray polyurethane foam as a key contributor to energy efficiency in homes and buildings, we expect great interest in this session. The session, titled “The New Era of Spray Polyurethane Foam – Leading the Way in Product Stewardship” includes industry and agency experts addressing emerging issues in the workplace (application), as well as issues of interest to the building and construction industry and to consumers.
Topics to be discussed include training, hazard communication, and workplace practices for safe handling and use of spray polyurethane foam ingredients, including selection of appropriate personal protective equipment. A question and answer session with the panel experts will follow the panel presentations. We expect a dynamic dialogue between industry and agency participants including innovative technologies and practices to manage onsite exposures such as ventilation containment and personal protective equipment.
