Morse Associates Inc. was founded in 1982 by Roger G. Morse AIA to apply technology to problems that arose in buildings. Initially this ranged from the application of computer modeling to energy conservation and solar design, both passive and active, and solutions to environmental contaminants in buildings such as asbestos and other toxic materials. From that time to now, the firm has transitioned through several iterations, but has never lost its focus on the technological issues facing buildings from design, through construction and into occupancy. The firm still deals with the same issues, but now, with the rapid pace of technological development in products and assemblies, has become increasingly involved in material science, compatibility of materials, moisture control in buildings and a whole host of issues that arise when building designers attempt to develop higher performing buildings that take less from the environment, and can be returned back to nature or reuse at the end of their life cycle.
