An SCI Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) system is the practical solution for your South Florida roof. In 1978, SCI was the first roofing company to apply foam insulation in our area. Today, SPF has become a leader in the industry, as it has proven to be the best defense against the extreme tropical elements of Florida, while remaining cost effective and environmentally responsible.
The Southern Coatings process is a triple layering system that utilizes marine insulation technology to seal and bond the roof so the elements of Florida's tropical climate; the intense sun, powerful wind and the heavy rain, will not permeate any of the 3 layers. The first layer is bonded polyurethane foam insulation. The second layer is a silicone or acrylic elastomeric base coat. The third layer is flexible, bright white reflective top coat of silicone or acrylic elastomeric coating that minimizes absorption, deflects the heat and the sun's ultraviolet rays, thereby lowering related energy bills.
